Of many mortals ( of many who are not the Dov ) he has heard —— whether or not he has truly paid ATTENTION to the names, however, is a matter of importance; and never has he considered it important enough to remember them. The title, he RECOGNIZES only vaguely —— Dark Lord of Vampires, a race he has heard exists in Skyrim.
❛ Of what IMPORTANCE is this Dark Lord of Vampires ?! Are you of his cult? Do you expect me to spare you for fear of his name ?! ❜
❛ The race of vampires began with HIM and his sacrifice. If it were not for him I would have died thousands of years ago, a nobody. weak. mortal. ❜ Perhaps they are one of PROMISE, the immortals, living and undead, of human composition or not. ❛ I do not know if he is aware that a dragon might be here, but THIS is where he sent me — without another order. I do not have the desire to lose my life without cause but if you wish to kill me, I will not go down without a fight. ❜
If he were a lesser creature, perhaps he would lower his head and SNIFF at the hissing man again, but he is smart enough to know not to do such a thing, lest he burn his nostrils to the point of no RETURN. And so, head held high and strong neck exposed and moving just slightly with his throat as it RUMBLES, he glares towards the small figure.
❛ As I have never known of your existence, nor have I ever DESIRED to know of it ! ❜
To die fighting a dragon is not the reason why he plays with Death. Loyalty claims him far greater than the temptation of dying a warrior’s death. Greater glory awaits him should he succeed the test of OUTSMARTING this monstrosity ( perhaps ). Dying is not an option for now.
❛ ——- Have you not heard of Harkon, the Dark Lord of VAMPIRES? ❜
Another mortal, and yet this one does not have the SMELL on him that he might have liked. While others are of musk, of iron, of sweat and of cologne, this one smells of NOTHING.
Or, perhaps it would be nothing, if not for the sharp, ACRID tinge in his nostrils which causes him to draw back, to lower his head and hiss at him. WHATEVER he is, he is not anything he has ever come across.
❛ ————- A dragon ! ❜ I did not know why Lord Harkon sent me HERE. To die, perhaps ? To test my strength? Does he now question my loyalty ?
He responds the hiss with his own, fangs bared. The thought of Garmr the Death Hound back in Castle Volkihar fills him with D R E A D.
If his loyal companion were here, the odds of winning over this — monstrosity would be greater than when he is alone.
❛ I did not know dragon as IMPOSING as you existed in my thousands of years. ❜
