They still wouldn’t like her, because she was different, and different was always dangerous to them. Nessie felt bad for thinking like that — not all people were the same, and she was sure there had to be at least one person in the Volturi who didn’t hate her. But she didn’t want to risk this person with that person. And even if she wanted to move, she couldn’t, because tears were rolling down her cheeks and fear had her paralyzed.
